Frequently Asked Questions
Not everyone is familiar with some key components of commercial embroidery services, so here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) we've answered for our customers and prospective customers. We hope this provides some insight into what we do and how we do it.
BizThreads is a dba of A & T Resources, Inc., an Oldsmar, FL supplier of marketing services, promotional products and corporate apparel founded in 2004. BizThreads provides custom in-house embroidery services to the trade – promotional products distributors and corporate fulfillment houses – as well as finished goods to commercial end-users.
No. We like to say we can do any quantity from 1 to 1,000, however, we have completed projects involving quantities well in excess of 1,000.
Pricing in our business is driven by stitch count, so everything starts with that. We have pricing brackets set up based on both stitch count ranges and quantities, and we have price lists for both wholesale (resellers) and retail (end-users). The difference in price, per piece, for a one-piece order versus a 250-piece order can be as much as 50%.
Typically, on orders of less than 200 pieces, we quote 10 business days. Orders in excess of 200 pieces are quoted on a situational basis, based on our production schedule at the time of order.
We will embroider products that customers supply, but the customers accept responsibility for the product. We do not replace customer-supplied products, if damaged during production.
We prefer a JPEG file, but we can work with PNG and PDF files.
Like the embroidered image itself, digitizing costs are based on stitch count. We charge $10 per 1,000 stitches – with a minimum of $50 – for retail customers.
Typically, no. Provided the file is useable and it can be read correctly by our embroidery computer program and our computerized embroidery machines, there will be no digitizing fee.
Yes. We use a sliding scale based on time ranges of 2 business days (our minimum); 3-5 business days; and 6-9 business days.
We do. Our minimum charge for walk-in retail customers is $35.00, depending on what we will be doing.
There are limitations, but we have embroidered on everything from carpet-like mats that go in the back window of a motor vehicle, to blankets, tote bags, gym bags, backpacks, briefcases, banners, flags and various other items, in addition to the more standard apparel products like shirts, jackets and hats. We like to say, “if we can hoop it, we can embroider it.”
